COVID-19 Workplace Policy

During the COVID-19 pandemic we changed our working practices and, where possible worked from home in accordance with Government Directive, at the same time preventing access to all but skeleton staff. Our office is now open subject to Government Guidance. We have continued working on current and new matters during the previous national lockdown. We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and shared the results with all staff members. This policy is drawn up as a result of our risk assessment.

Where it is absolutely necessary for employees to use our offices to carry out their duties, including if there is a need to meet with clients where the use of video conferencing is not practical, then Leonard Solicitors’ COVID-19 Workplace Policy makes provisions for them to do so as safely as possible. The following contains specific information that you may need, relating to our COVID-19 Workplace Policy. Our Policy is under constant review and any updates will be published on these pages as soon as they are available.

To keep everybody safe when we open our offices:

  • Clients will be encouraged (whenever possible) to attend upon us by telephone or video conferencing.
  • When clients wish to call into the office, they will be welcome, and for everyone’s safety, we will allow one client or family group into reception, which has protective screening, at any one time. We would ask that we are given notice of your proposed attendance so we can keep you safe and socially distanced when you arrive.
  • If you arrive and the reception area is busy, we ask that you wait outside the reception maintaining social distancing. We will get to you as quickly as possible.
  • You are encouraged to use free hand sanitizer available in the reception area and throughout the office.
  • If a face to face appointment is essential this will be facilitated at our discretion as during this pandemic face to face appointments will not be offered as the norm.  Our policy will remain under constant review with safety being the overriding factor.
  • Masks and gloves are available for all staff, clients and visitors.
  • Telephone answering will operate as normal as we can make it in these difficult times but, if there is delay please be aware this is only because we will have less staff, not that we don’t value your call.
  • If you can access email this is our current preferred method of communication so, please get in touch accordingly.
