Alex Adeyemo Consultant Family Solicitor at Leonard Solicitors LLP

Alex is a calm, highly experienced solicitor who combines strong advocacy with a practical, negotiation-led approach to help clients achieve workable outcomes with minimal stress.

Having qualified as a solicitor in 2003, Alex has worked at national firms and local practices across the country. He brings broad legal knowledge, considerable advocacy experience and a calm, practical approach to every matter he handles.

Alex chose to practise law because he wanted to make a practical difference to people’s lives. Having experienced injustice at a young age, he was drawn to a career in which he could offer solutions and support people through challenging circumstances.

Experience

Alex advises on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce and separation, matrimonial finances, arrangements for children and protective injunctions. Alex is a member of the Law Society Accreditation and this is in recognition of his high level of competence, knowledge and expertise in family law matters.

Alex is also a member of Resolution and this is an association of lawyers who commit to resolving disputes in a constructive and non-confrontational way in accordance with its Code of Practice. When disputes are resolved in such a way, the outcome is usually much better, both financially and emotionally for all concerned.

He also has experience in immigration and asylum law and is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA).

Alex supports the firm with civil litigation matters, including disputes involving property and cohabiting couples. His combined family and civil litigation experience enables him to provide well-rounded advice where these areas overlap, including claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).

Before returning to private practice, Alex worked as a Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service. He appeared before courts including Croydon, Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts and continues to bring this valuable criminal advocacy experience to his work.

Alex is also a court-appointed Qualified Legal Representative, conducting cross-examinations on behalf of parties who are prohibited from doing so themselves. This work takes him to courts across the country, including the Royal Courts of Justice.

Approach

Alex is known for his calm, approachable manner and his ability to put clients at ease. He takes time to understand what matters to each client and provides clear, practical advice tailored to their circumstances.

Wherever possible, Alex seeks to resolve disputes constructively through negotiation. His aim is to reduce conflict, uncertainty and unnecessary legal costs while helping clients achieve practical, lasting outcomes.

Recent outcomes

In a recent family matter involving a proposed relocation abroad, an occupation order and arrangements for a child, Alex helped the parties resolve the issues by consent. His involvement helped bring what was expected to become an acrimonious dispute to a constructive conclusion without the need for a contested final hearing.

Outside of work

Outside the office, Alex is a keen motorcyclist and attends the annual May Day Bike Run to Hastings. He also plays table tennis in the Bromley and Croydon leagues, enjoys the cinema and a good television drama, and keeps active through football and treadmill training.
